DataGlance Launches eScheduling, an AI-Assisted Work Scheduling Solution for Nuclear and Other Asset-Intensive Industries, Developed in Partnership with Indeavor

DataGlance, Inc. today announced the launch of eScheduling, an AI-assisted work scheduling solution designed to optimize online and outage maintenance schedules across nuclear power plants, U.S. Department of War and Department of Energy national laboratories, nuclear fuel manufacturers, military shipyards, and other asset-intensive industries. Version 1 of eScheduling is available for purchase now with customer implementations beginning in the second quarter of 2027.

eScheduling is being developed by DataGlance in partnership with Indeavor, a workforce execution platform with deep experience scheduling named personnel during commercial nuclear online and outage periods. The solution pairs DataGlance’s highly configurable user interface and workflow engine with Indeavor’s and other partners’ artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to coordinate labor, parts and materials, and maintenance and test equipment (M&TE) resources while minimizing schedule duration, operational risk, dose, hazard exposure, and cost.

eScheduling supports both online and outage maintenance scheduling through vertical and horizontal schedule reviews that optimize critical path duration and improve coordination across operations and maintenance organizations. The solution intelligently bundles compatible activities so single equipment tagouts and retest activities support multiple work orders; reducing equipment unavailability, minimizing post-maintenance testing, and decreasing overall labor requirements. It also manages parts and materials availability by accounting for procurement lead times, automating inventory reservations, projecting stockout and reorder dates, and identifying obsolete-material risks before they impact execution.

eScheduling was conceived and functionally designed by Nathan Ives, Executive Vice President of DataGlance, drawing on his U.S. Navy nuclear submarine and shipyard overhaul/decommissioning experience, years as a U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission-licensed Senior Reactor Operator supporting commercial nuclear online and outage operations, and experience advising commercial nuclear plant leaders on outage and online performance improvement.

DataGlance, Inc. The eInstruction Dynamic Instructions solution enables laboratory personnel to build and execute guided, if/then/else logic-based digital procedures on desktop and mobile tablet devices, with real-time system data feeds, continuous job status visibility, and both connected and disconnected operation in the field. The solution integrates documents, drawings, and multimedia work products directly into the digital work instruction, giving technicians and engineers a single, authoritative source for procedure execution and data capture.

The design of the solution’s dynamic instruction framework drew heavily on the military and commercial operational and regulatory backgrounds of key DataGlance leaders: Nathan Ives, Executive Vice President, and Russ Austin, Director of Business Programs. Nathan Ives is a former U.S. Navy nuclear submarine officer and NRC-licensed Senior Reactor Operator whose career includes procedure development and revision management responsibilities in both military and commercial nuclear operations. Russ Austin brought complementary military and commercial nuclear operations and procedure development experience to the effort. Together, their firsthand understanding of how procedures are written, revised, validated, and used at the point of work directly shaped the human-factored design of the dynamic instruction workflows delivered to the laboratory.

DataGlance, a provider of AI-enhanced enterprise asset management software to the Nuclear and Defense industries, today announced the implementation kickoff of its ePlanning generative AI-assisted work planning solution at a commercial nuclear power plant in the United States. The implementation marks the first commercial deployment of ePlanning, which DataGlance developed in partnership with Nuclearn, a provider of generative AI technology purpose-built for the nuclear industry.

ePlanning is an AI-assisted work planning solution that supports the development of corrective maintenance work packages for online and outage activities. The solution combines DataGlance’s user interface, configurable workflows, and enterprise system integrations with Nuclearn’s nuclear-specific generative AI engine to create task lists, automatically assign labor, parts, tools, permits, and other work required resources while enforcing consistent work order content and formatting standards – drawing on the decades of historic work performance data unique to each facility. The solution continuously improves through a generative AI model that learns from planner adjustments and technician feedback throughout the work planning and execution processes.

Nuclear utility leaders and planners participating in ePlanning’s design have identified corrective maintenance work order planning as one of the most time- and labor-intensive functions within nuclear maintenance work management. ePlanning is targeted to reduce corrective maintenance work package planning time by up to 50 percent while driving near 100 percent planning consistency through enforced work order content and formatting standards – improvements expected to free planning staff to focus on higher-value technical judgment rather than administrative research and formatting, while improving work execution safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

DataGlance, a provider of AI-enhanced enterprise asset management software and services to the Nuclear and Defense industries, today announced that Nathan Ives, Executive Vice President, contributed to the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Maintenance Work Planning Guidance, Revision 3 (EPRI Report No. 3002032007, 2025). Specifically, Ives wrote Section 9.7.1, Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Work Planning, providing the Nuclear Industry’s first authoritative guidance on the functional design and operational integration of AI-assisted work planning solutions in nuclear maintenance environments.

Founded in 1972, EPRI produces the technical standards, guidelines, and research that utilities across the United States and internationally rely upon to operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. EPRI’s technical reports are considered among the most authoritative references in nuclear power generation, and inclusion as a contributing author represents a significant recognition of both technical expertise and industry standing.

Ives’ contribution spans the complete lifecycle of AI-assisted work package development in nuclear maintenance environments. His section addresses the design and integration requirements for AI-assisted work planning solutions, covering initial work order creation, scope and task definition and approval, resource assignment, work order approval workflows, and generative AI performance monitoring and continuous improvement. The guidance is designed to help nuclear utilities adopt AI tools that reduce the time required to develop accurate, complete, and regulatory-compliant work packages while continuously improving through planner and technician feedback.

Ives brings more than three decades of nuclear industry and enterprise AI experience spanning roles as a U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Officer, NRC-licensed Senior Reactor Operator, INPO Senior Operations Evaluator, and Big 4 Nuclear Practice Leader. His work with nuclear utility leaders produced measurable operational and financial results: an accelerated plant cooldown approach saving approximately 12 hours and $500,000 in outage cost; work management and supply chain improvements identifying over $200 million in spare parts inventory reductions and yielding more than $1 million in annual expediting cost savings. At DataGlance, Ives conceived and led the commercial launch of the company’s enterprise AI-assisted work planning software — a platform he designed to reduce corrective maintenance work package planning time by up to 50 percent — and whose performance and design principles directly informed his contribution to this EPRI guideline.

The publication of Maintenance Work Planning Guidance, Revision 3 marks the first time EPRI has included dedicated guidance on artificial intelligence in the nuclear maintenance work planning process, reflecting the industry’s growing adoption of AI-assisted tools to improve work package quality, planning efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The report is published for use by nuclear utility work planners, maintenance supervisors, and work management professionals across the United States and internationally.
